At college, every 4th year bloke gets the opportunity to preach at chapel. It’s a great experience. There you are, standing in front of a bunch of guys who are very likely smatter and more knowledgeable than you (at least that’s the case if you’re me) and you get to share the Bible with them.
We get to choose what we preach on, as long as it’s an expositional sermon from a Biblical passage. Rather than recylcing an old sermon, I wrote a new sermon based on the Bible passage for the day, Luke 13.
The passage deals with Jesus healing a woman who has been crippled by Satan’s forces. My question for the audience – Do you really believe in Satan?
I’ve never seen the show Supernatural. I wasn’t a fan of Jensen Ackles on Smallville so didn’t follow him along to his new show. Recently the fourth season finished with a significant appearance by Satan. Is this show worth watching? Should I get my hands on the DVD’s for review?
There’s an article on i09 asking the question if Supernatural is a show for atheists or people who believe in God. Well worth reading.
Would you sell your soul to the Devil for superpowers? Think of all the good you could do as a superhero. All the lives you could save. Wouldn’t all that be worth the sacrifice of your soul? Isn’t that the kind of thing Jesus would do? That’s what Daniel Cassidy aka Blue Devil did. But was it worth it? And is it even possible?
