So, Justin Bieber has a song called Pray. How about that? The Bieb has gone on record to discuss his Christian faith and there’s a bit of controversy going on at the moment about some of his convictions that have come across in a recent issue of Rolling Stone. So it was bound to happen that Bieber’s faith would be reflected in his music. Pray is Justin Bieber putting it out there and sharing his prayer life with the world.
And now I have some questions.

Tony Stark has it all. Money, women, fast cars, and popularity. He’s on the front cover of every magazine and the lead story of every news program. Crowds of people swarm together just to get a chance to see him. On top of all that, his new invention has everyone excited. So excited that it looks like he may have brought about world peace. Tony Stark is Iron Man, the armored avenger. So what could possibly go wrong?
People look for salvation in all kinds of places. In their work, their family, their possessions, etc. Everyone is looking for that one thing that will make their life complete, that will rescue them from insecurity and doubt. When things are tough, people head for their real god. Life is difficult, so I’ll find god at the bottom of the bottle. Life is tough so I’ll go out and find god through meaningless sex. Life is hard to I will search for god through hard work and super annuation. We look for salvation in all kinds of places. Except for the place where real salvation can be found – Jesus Christ.
X-Factor #43 shows us this truth in just one panel.
If you walked down the street and asked a random person if they believed in God, chances are they would say yes. But what God? It seems no two Gods are the same. They all have different characteristics, different qualities, different personalities. If the God I believe in is really just a construct of my mind, do I really even need him in the first place?
Do I need to believe in God?
I’ve been listening to Alice Cooper’s new album Along Came A Spider for a few days now. There’s some great tracks on here and overall it is a very solid album. When I’ve brought this album up in conversation with people, they’re shocked. Not because I’m listening to an Alice Cooper album but because Alice Cooper is still putting out albums. In most people’s minds (it seems to me), Alice hasn’t put out an album since the 80s. In reality, Alice has been solidly releasing albums for decades. And in my mind, some of his best work has been released in the last 15 years.
