Webcomics Monday: Grace and Penny Arcade
If Jesus came over for dinner, would it be weird? Last November, Jesus joined the Penny Arcade crew for Thanksgiving. In the Gospels, we see plenty of occasions where Jesus sat down and shared a meal with people. He must have been a good dinner guest as people kept inviting him to parties. If you had Jesus over for dinner, what would you talk about? What would you eat? And most importantly, would you say grace? Would saying grace open up some kind of trinitarian brain explosion?

Last Christmas, I had the privelege of preaching at our Church’s Christmas Day service. Me, being a guy who doesn’t know where the box is half the time, let alone think inside it, thought I’d be a bit creative with my sermon choice. So instead of preaching from one of the accounts of Jesus’ birth, I preached from Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The Simpsons is one of the few shows on television that reguarly deals with the topic of religion. The Simpson family attends a Protestant Church every Sunday. Krusty the Clown is Jewish. And Apu is a devout Hindu. But what about Roman Catholicism? Is it the same as the Christian faith of Rev. Lovejoy’s Church or is it different?
