The Prisoner Remake

I just can’t wait for this. The original Prisoner series is an absolute classic. And every time I see anything coming out of this production, I drool a little bit. The themes of identity and freedom are always worth exploring. And I promise not to care if there’s no weather balloon going around killing people. I swear.

Sword of My Mouth

Sword of My Mouth is a six issue comic book miniseries currently being put out by IDW. It’s a sequel to Therefore Repent! Has anyone seen this yet? Is it worth me picking up in the individual issues? Or should I wait for the trade? Or not even bother?

The Master List Is Live!
May 6, 2009If you’re visiting the site (and not just reading on the RSS feed) you may notice that there’s a new page link at the top. The Master List is here! The aim is to find all those modern songs that talk about Jesus, God and the Bible and write about them. I’m hoping it will be a great resource for preachers and teachers. I Need A Hero
February 12, 2009This afternoon I spoke at the lunch time group at Thomas Hassall Anglican College. I spoke on Romans 5:8. Earlier this week I had the chance to hang out with the new year 7′s on their camp. Fun was had by all (well, I can’t speak for everyone, but I had fun).

Does anyone out there use Twitter? I’ve heard about it for a while, but not used it… until today. I can be found here. Anyone have any thoughts about Twitter? How about using it for evangelism? Should Christians use Twitter? What are the pros and cons?

Christian Retail

For a number of years, I’ve worked in Christian retail. It’s been my job to connect people with the right Bible or the right book or the right gift in exchange for money. When I first started in the shop (Bible Society NSW Bookshop) all we sold were Bibles. If someone asked me if we carried a book, I would ask them if it was a Bible. If they said no, I could quickly tell them we didn’t stock it because we only stocked Bibles. No need for complicated computer searches back then!
A few years ago, the shop branched into Christian literature and music. Suddenly it was a whole new world. I actually had to know things like titles! And authors! I never had that problem before. New stock meant new problems. What books do you stock? Do you stock everything and hope for the best? Do you only stock books you agree with? Do you stock books that are good, even if they don’t sell?
